This year was a whirlwind!! I must say it did go by fast despite with the lockdown and all. Who would’ve thought that this Pandemic will have such a huge impact in our lives right? But my friends from here on out it is only moving forward and not looking back.
2021 is our Year and great way to start is to set new goals for the new year and crush it!
Going into the year with a clear mindset will extremely help motivate me accomplish these goals whether physical, mental or spiritual goal.
1. Prioritize physical health
I Know this is probably one of the most common goals for everyone; but keeping it or making it happen is the most challenging way to accomplish this goal. So, what makes it different this year? Baby steps is what they always say… Starting small such as slowly eliminating bad habits in your diet. I am such a snack machine!
And I know this is one of the things I want to cut down especially while binge watching! Perhaps, snacking on healthy chips or just a cup of low-fat popcorn instead of a whole bag of hot Cheetos, right? We gotta start somewhere and definitely start slow and steady!
2. Taking time for mental health
I recently got into planning and I am loving it!! I am such a sucker for stationaries, pens and everything paper!! I recently did a subscription box with Cloth and Paper and I am obsessed. In one of the most recent sub box came with some journaling sheets. I used to do use my journal back in high school and I remember how much I loved it. Writing down things I am grateful for or something amazing that happened that day or something I accomplished. Taking a few moments to reflect and enjoy all the great things happened that day.
During the quarantine, the fear unknown and uncertainty of things resulted to major anxiety!! I usually do not get anxious, but it seemed like the pandemic extremely triggered it. Journaling helped me clear my head, write down my thoughts and focus on the positive instead of dwelling into the negative. Oh, and I also stopped watching the news ha-ha.
3. Sticking to it
This might be the most difficult thing to do with setting goals. Life gets in the way…or we get busy! But I find it helpful to look back and think about the reason why we start and set these goals to begin with. It is prevalent to get derailed, but what’s important is going back to it, be determined and to focus.
So regardless how big or small your goal is this year, let’s go in with a clear mind-set that we can, and we will crush these goals! Let’s focus on the positive and not let negativity hinder us from accomplishing it. Good luck babes! Stay safe and wishing you and your family have a healthy 2021!
